I’m Andrew—founder, teacher, and owner. We’ve been open since September 2018, located near metro: Esperanza, we’re expanding rapidly and we’re hoping to take on a few more native-sounding teachers ASAP. We teach all levels and all ages through workshops, one-to-one or group academic tutoring, business classes, conversation classes, drama, arts & crafts, Social Studies, Science, and Language Arts, all in an English or French immersion environment. We offer on-site and off-site classes, online classes, and homestay and exchange programs abroad. I’m on all the Facebook groups and I’ve heard all the stories about some of the language schools. All I can say is that’s not Barefoot School. I did the “academia” English teacher hustle for a number of years back in the day, and unlike many language schools I’ve worked with, I’m fully committed to making Barefoot School a wonderfully supportive, creative, respectful, diverse, open-minded, and laid back (but professional) and fair place to work. In the 21st century startup vein of running a business, I’m more of the idea of finding talented teachers and letting them fly than looking for candidates who conform to one teaching method or another. And if you’re just starting out, I’d be happy to train/mentor you to help you find your wings. As any experienced teacher will tell you, you learn more through actually teaching than through any training course available out there. Thanks so much for reading!
